Chocked Full

Of veggies that is! After I left y’all, I went and made myself a lunch FULL of veggies. Here’s what I had–it was mighty delicious!

A flat out wrap spread with hummus, 1/2 avocado (mashed), spinach, broccoli, and tomato. I was going to add some green bell pepper and some cucumber, but I said enough is enough 😉 100_2157

I put it under the broiler after topping it with some provolone. The flavors were amazing! (please excuse the blurry pic)

This meal had me full and content, the perfect happy medium. I love veggies!

Before leaving for the gym+yoga, I had a few plump (love that word 😆 ) apricots to make sure I had some energy in me. Yoga was wonderful. Before the class, I did 20 quick minutes on the stair master. It felt so good to workout again! The class was focused on twisting and it felt so amazing. My back feels awesome!

Upon arriving home I grabbed an apple, a kashi bar, and some green grapes. Yum!100_2159

Dinner was veggie pizza with a whole wheat crust that was very yummy. I ate it while watching the game.

I just finished some vanilla ice cream and lots of green grapes (at least there was lots when I grabbed them…hehe!)

Oatmeal without PB?

It cannot be! But for some reason, I almost didn’t put a scoop in my bowl. 😯 Can you believe it? Now that’s wrong.100_21461 Tehe! Don’t worry I did and I enjoyed it very much:

  • 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup milk, 1/3 cup water
  • a banana
  • some cinnamon and brown sugar
  • berry almond trail mix

I just finished making hummus, and it’s pretty good. I didn’t really follow a recipe and that may have been my mistake. 😳 It’s not amazing, but it’s not terrible. I have another can so I might take another try sometime. Do any of y’all have any good hummus recipes? If so, do you mind sharing? 😀

Well I am off to go make myself a lunch that incorporates Mr. Hummus and Mrs. Alvacado. They are meant to be. Haha, have a great morning everyone! Hope spring is in the air for you too.

Quick Post-Dinner

As I was finishing up cleaning the kitchen, my parents walked in (had been on a little date) with a Chai Tea for me. I was so happy y’all. I am telling you, Chai is my new addiction 😎  YUM! (P.S weird reflection in first pic of my lamp!!)

Happy, happy, HAPPY!

Haha, yay for Saturday! Lately (as in today and last night 😀 ) I have been feeling really positive and really happy. I just feel like I am doing and begin what I love and I feel extremely healthy. Don’t ya just love being happy?

I’ve got bunches of gifts to show y’all. My grandparents came over (with pie!!) and brought me gifts from them and more gifts from my mom and dad. It was a great night and the pie was fantastic! Apple crumb…mmm…100_2083

First off, my grandparents gifts, beautiful pink earrings (to go with the dress, unpictured) and a gorgeous, pink, floral dress with a bow. It is one of the most beautiful dress’ I’ve ever seen and I think I am gonna save it for a night out in washington, DC. (class trip) I tried it on today and it fits like a glove.100_2104

All in all, it was a fantastic bday!

TODAY: I woke up without a headache and feeling pretty good. That alone put me in a great mood! 😀 I then had breakfast and worked through breakfast and all the way through lunch on makeup work. But I am happy to say that I only have history to worry about, so I finished pretty much everything else. WOHOO!

I just got home from Target and the grocery store. I got lots of yummy foods at the grocery store and here’s a rough list:

  • Produce: apples, bananas (LOTS of them!), clementines, grapes, avocados, tomato, cucumber, carrots, cauliflower/broccoli/carrots (bag mixture)
  • Fridge/Freezer: Hagen Das frozen yogurt (mango!), yogurts, string cheese, cheeses (pepperjack and provolone)
  • Cabinet: organic peanut butter, kashi pumpkin spice bars (!!), cashew cookie larabar, carrot cake cliff bar, chai tea, and red sauce for dinner tonight (–mushroom and green bell pepper flavor–)

YUM! 😀

The EATS!

Breakfast: (didn’t have any bananas, so not oatmeal 😦 ) I had Total raisin bran cereal, and sliced apples for a crunchy “snack” while studying..This cereal is incredible–look at those nutritional stats–amazing! 😀100_2106Here’s my bowl! Hey ladies! Quickie post–I just made myself dinner and if I do say so myself it was delicious! It totally hit the spot and remember how I mentioned needing more veggies? Well, I got them in me now! Mmm, I had such a well-rounded, balanced meal–it makes me so happy!

Friday!

Usually I would be excited that it’s Friday, but I’m not. It’s the weekend–usually I’d be excited about that too. But I am not. Why? Because this whole weekend is going to be makeup work city. Funnn!

But let’s not think about that, ok?

Today I’ve spent most of the day in bed. (under three blankets I might add) I am feeling okay…

HIGHLIGHT: DUKE LOST!!! They are out of the NCAA tournament. Gosh, I almost felt bad for them–they played horrible. Duke isn’t a horrible team, as much as I hate to admit it. They are actually pretty good. But Villanova was amazing! Memphis also lost–another “upset.” (more or less) I am lucky and didn’t pick them to go to the final four, so it didn’t really hurt my bracket. Okay enough basketball talk. Onto the eats+tonight’s plan (first).

TONIGHT: We are not going out to eat, because we want to wait until we all can enjoy it 110% so  we’ll be going either tomorrow or next weekend. Instead, my grandparents are coming over with presents and pie. My grandma is known for her pies, so I requested that she make one (or two, or three–I don’t know how many she’s bringing!) I asked for apple crumb. Gotta get my fruit it, ya know. 😉 I mean, it would be just plain wrong to refuse her pie. It tastes good and ya gotta enjoy life! Mmm…can’t wait!

Friday’s Foodies:

Breakfast: another bowl of the same oatmeal I had two nights ago–although I did it on the stove (I felt as though I had enough energy)..turned out lovely and scrumptious..I also had an apple some time later100_2055100_2054100_2057

Lunch: This bowl of oatmeal held me over for a while! I didn’t eat until ~2:30. I really wanted something colorful, like a salad or something containing veggies. Next time I hit up the grocery store I am for sure going to buying some veggies. I feel like I am lacking certain nutrients…Speaking of which, I need to take my vitamin. lol. Starbucks!

Before I say anything, I just wanted to show y’all what the world’s two sweetest brothers got me for my bday. Isn’t it adorable! I love those too 🙂 100_2045100_2044

As I am writing this, I’m sipping on a Starbucks Chai Tea. I’ve never had Chai tea, but it’s amazing! I read that Chai tea is sometimes served to yoga students after their class, and ever since my wanting to try it was multiplied by 1000! I also found a great recipe, and I am hoping to make it sometime. Gosh this stuff is good… Have you ever tried Chai tea? What’s your favorite kind of tea? 100_2051100_2049100_20471

Ice cream..for breakfast?

Hello ladies! I am happy to report that I am feeling a little bit better. Not a lot by nay means, but better than nothing 🙂

I woke up this morning to adorable balloons! It’s kind of a tradition at my house: there’s gotta be balloons that bday morning! At the bottom of them, sat two presents. Since our house is kind of the “sick house,” my grandparents will not be coming over tonight. They have the majority of my presents at their house (I think my mom left them their on purpose after shopping with my g’ma) so I will just have to wait and be patient, hehe. Unbalanced Breakfast: I woke up and my throat was killing me! So I grabbed the Ben and Jerry’s Froyo. I mean, from the frozen yogurt there’s protein and calcium, there’s a little bit of fat it in, and the cherries provide the fruit. HOLY MUFFIN!

First, do y’all like this new theme? I love it but…what do you think of it?? I’m trying to find a good pic..hmm! Ideas welcome 😉

Hello girlies! How was your Wednesday??? Hope everything went well. Yes, I am still home sick, and will be tomorrow as well. I woke up today feel worse then ever and with a fever too. I’m getting sick of this sick stuff.

Okay onto some positivity. Anyone seen the movie A Walk to Remember? Well, I love that movie! I watched it with the bf once, and he knows how much I adore it, so when he stopped by today to hang out for a few, he gave me one of my birthday gifts early. 🙂

My birthday is tomorrow and the plan was to have an “intimate party” on thrusday. I.E Yummy dinner here with the grandparents, and then go out to an awesome restaurant of my choice on friday with my family+grandparents+the bf.. (then come home and watch unc play) I picked, whoops, I forgot the name of the place. But I do know that it’s specialty is seafood. FISH! Right up my alley-it also has lots of organic, all natural foods so I am super psyched! If I am not feeling well, then I suppose we’ll go another time, like maybe next week. Come on body, get better!

I just finished eating one of the most delicious bowls of oatmeal, EVA! (for dinner) Naturally, I am not feeling up to making stovetop oats, so I just threw a packet of cinnamon and spice oatmeal, with half a banana into the microwave, then took it out, stirred in some cinnamon (never can have too much!) and brown sugar (not a lot this time) and topped it with…1/6 of a MUFFIN! My mom came home with these muffins from work that are ginormous! Like, I don’t think I have ever seen a muffin so big. They are really yummy though, they have a “spicy” flavor, so I thought it would go perfect with the oatmeal. AND IT DID! I also drizzled some JIff natural PB over. It’s so smooth and “melty” that it also went perfectly. Heaven in a bowl I tell ya! Heaven! 100_2010100_2011100_2012
