New Directions+A Fabulous Weekend

8 09 2009

Heyyyy, happy Monday! Which I hope most of you had off, because that’s the best way to spend a Monday, right?

Fun

Thanks for all the well wishes on our huge party: it was a massive SUCCESS. There was copious amount of delicious and healthy food! I so wish I had taken more photos! But you know I was just so caught up with being with friends and enjoying the food I didn’t want to have to worry about the blog, y’all understand 🙂 I tried a bit of everything, or most things, but definitely went heavier on the vegetables and proteins. Yum! My favorites 🙂 Don’t get my wrong, I love my carbs too 😉 So moral of the story, I had a great time—swimming, running around, and spending time with friends. Twas delightful 😉

This morning my family was invited to a brunch! Which included even more delicious food. I love tasting little bits of everything, or what looks most appealing, verse trying three huge servings of something. That takes all the fun out of it for me 😉 The brunch included lots of fruit! I literally went back multiple times just for the fruits. Fruit overload…? Nahh 😉 I have been going easy on it for the rest of today!

Food

My brunch was definitely lacking in protein, so before yoga this afternoon I had a chicken burger topped with provolone and homemade (not by us, someone else brought it!) salsa! Mmm! This was all from leftovers 🙂 100_6904 With ketchup, too, of course 😉 100_6905 Yesterday’s breakfast was the ever-so-fabulous oats in a jar! I love how the DCD gets all melty! Like eating pure dark chocolate. Can you say scrumptious?! 100_6844 100_6847

Sunday’s lunch was another favorite, ham n’ cheese on a multi grain w/ flax flat-out. My favorite 😀 Along with grapes and applesauce! 100_6851 100_6852 Fitness

Sunday’s workout was another P90X DVD—Plyometrics. Oh. my. word. SO challenging. My t-shirt was soaked after words. It focuses on quads and hamstrings especially. Let me tell you, it hurts so bad to sit down today!

Even though, I managed to do 60 minutes of Dave Farmar Baptiste Power Yoga. I love this yoga session! Definitely check it out on yogadownload.com , an awesome site as well!

Here’s this week’s workout schedule!

  • Sunday: Plyometrics
  • Monday: Yoga
  • Tuesday: Yoga
  • Wednesday: Strength+Cardio
  • Thursday: Strength+Cardio
  • Friday: OFF
  • Saturday: Strength (possibly cardio…)

A New Direction

I love blogging, I truly do! And I can’t imagine my life without it, seriously!! But I have some new ideas for the blog, which you can see portrayed in this post. I want to have categories, which will include my interests and passions. That was a really rough description, but I think you get what I’m saying! Here are some of my categories I’m thinking about! I think it will make my blog much more organized and fun to read!

  • School
  • College Talk
    • (I’m excited about my class’ upcoming trip to a fabulous college with a gorgeous campus and some other fantastic offerings! More on that in another post!)
  • Car Talk/Driving
  • Fitness
  • Food
  • Faith
  • Fun
  • Job Talk
  • Health/Nutrition

That seems like a lot, but I surely won’t be talking about each one in every single post! 🙂

Faith

Verse of the Day: Psalm 103:11-12

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

I love these verses! It shows His great love for us and how he’s removed our sin as far as the east is from the west. Isn’t that amazing?

In giveaway news…

Heather is having an awesome giveaway! By the way, if you haven’t already, check out her blog. She’s a total sweetheart! 🙂

Have a great week everyone! Just think, it’s practically Wednesday, and then Thursday…and then the weekend again. Well, kinda 😉 I’m a glass half full type girl!

Party success = smiley face 🙂 🙂 🙂

I am excited to see the new direction of your blog, I absolutely love it now–so don’t change too much. 😉 haha

Your workouts sounds great for the week. Could you give us a little more detail as to what a normal P90X plyometrics workout consists of? I am interested!

I’m a glass half full kinda gal myself! I’m always encouraging people to be that way! It makes life so much happier! And I’m a major supporter of cutting down the days until the weekend…”Well today doesn’t really count, and Friday doesn’t so…that’s like 2 days left!) Haha 😉

I’m hoping to throw a (healthy) food party sometime soon too. Can’t wait to hear what you served!

The workout-schedule looks good… I’ve finally got mine together too!

That verse is very comforting – the idea of someone caring that much, is very humbling …

Learning To Relove

sounds like you had an amazing time and I’m so happy for that! And all the food you consumed both sounded and looked delicious! DCD Oats = rock my world! 😉

I think that it’s a great idea that you start focusing more on the things that are really going on in your life right now. Rather than spending more time on food, which used to be an obsession anyway, now you can focus on the other aspects of your life and really share with us a little more about YOU! GREAT IDEA! haha

That verse is wonderful and so true!

I think taking your blog in whatever direction you feel good about it an awesome idea. Our blogs should reflect who we are, and that includes all of our thoughts and interests!!
