Hello ALL! Wow, oh WOW. It’s been a LONG time since I “really” posted.
I have missed y’all of course and I’ve missed blogging, BUT the “break” has been nice. School is absolutely KICKING my B-U-T-T. Uganda really taught me SO much…I’ll be honest. I miss it a lot, and I am SO emotional lately. I miss my babies, my kids, the LOVE, the people…everything. America is so..different. I think of them ALL THE TIME. My locker is filled with ADORABLE photos and my room has a “uganda flair.” This summer was the most life-changing summer I’ve ever had. My perspective has been COMPLETELY altered. To witness 6 year olds waking up at 4 AM to go carry a 25 lb. can of water down to a well EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. just so they can wash clothes is MIND-ALTERING. I could go on and on, but I will stop!
Between LIFE, working out, eating, my boy, school, soccer games..etc, blogging just HAD to take a back-seat. I think posting 1-2 times a week is gonna be my max. 5 honors classes, taking the AP Euro test in May, the PSAT AND PLAN in October, research paper, starting to have to think about college, life is just BUSY!
My workouts have been SLAMMIN’! Here’s pretty much what I’ve been up to…
- Cardio: one long sesh (45 minutes)+ 1-2 short sessions (20-30 minutes)
- Strength: 4-5 times a week (including ABS, ARMS, AND LEGS)
- Yoga: 1-2 times a week
I have noticed a huge change in my arms, getting much stronger. YAY!
Food photos anyone?!
Banana bread!! Sugar free (AGAVE!!) and “normal!” (Both almost 100% whole wheat & ridiculously GOOD!)
And now, my favorite photo of all…
LOVE ALL OF YOU!
so glad your back safe and sound! I worked in an orphanage in Zambia back in 06 and I totally understand that perspective. Its breath-taking! Welcome home friend.
That. bread. looks. SO YUMMY!!!
wow lots of food pics!
fun to look at! i’m fixing to take my PSAT really soon as well..i’m like ahhh!!! i don’t wanta do it..i took it last year too..and i thought it was a little hard..but one year smarter..so anyway..good luck w/ yours!!! love the last picture for sure!
Hi beautiful boo!
ahhh I loveee this busy-ness of school! it sounds like you are doing amazing! i am so impressed with your soccer abilities! I hope you are kickin butt and winning lots!
xoxo!
Your banana bread looks good, I’m glad agave and ww flour worked, because sometimes, substitutions like this can end up desastrous (I am a living proof)
It’s cool that you are spending more time ‘living life’, aka school, friends, working out and stuff like that
I now post less than once a week or so…but I’m happier!
xoxo
Kudos to you for sending time with people who really need help! And how amazing is it that in the end we are the ones who benefit so much from the people we help?
Have fun living your life offline and don’t apologize!! Blogging is nothing compared to the real world.
I know what you mean- life just gets busy and it’s hard to post everyday- I’m lucky if I get in 1-2 posts a week. Sometimes on the weekend, I will make a draft post ahead of time and have it ready for a day in the middle of the week and just push the publish button. Love all of your eats!
Girl I have not been blogging alot either!
Love the food porn photos, especially the banana bread and that strawberry and kiwi combo bowl!
Love ya and hope all is well! xoxo

Uganda sounds unbelievable!! Being in India definitely changed me forever as well!
oh wow, you must have some interesting stories to tell! i can imagine perspective would change after witnessing such a different lifestyle. not that i can compare my experience with yours, but after moving to Sydney i’ve met SO many people from every corner of the planet (no joke) and i LOVE listening to them talk about their homeland. it really does make you realize you are not the only person in this world. it’s good to have that reminder sometimes.
